SUBSCAPE

Educational Game

SUBSCAPE is an educational game developed with the University of Auckland and STEM ONLINE NZ to help teach the graphical relationship between functions and derivatives in the calculus high school curriculum.

In the game students control the submarine to avoid obstacles by moving a lever to change the airflow into the ballast tanks. Graphs on screen show the air in the tank (submarine position) as the function and the airflow into the ballast tanks, as the derivative
